BRILLIANT CHARCOAL
PORTRAITS
by
DYLAN EAKIN
G'day folks,
I've featured this artist before, but here are some more samples of his brilliant work. Seattle
based artist Dylan Eakin’s incredible charcoal portraits take about
100 hours to complete!
It may not be a complete surprise when you look
at them closely. They are extremely detailed and vivid. ‘For me, it’s an
exploration of medium, an exercise in precision and self-discipline,
and an attempt to engineer myself and my tools to produce the work of a
machine’ he has shared in an interview. It seems to be working.
Clancy's comment: As a photographer, it's hard to believe that these are not photographs. Stunning talent.
I'm ...
I thought they were photographs.
