'TEAM SKIPPY' REVIEWS

I take my hat off to Clancy Tucker. This was a moving book in so many ways. The way he handled someone dealing with grief was truly admirable, and the sensitive way in which he wrote powerful segments of this book took my breath away. Many male authors don't do 'sensitive' well, but it obviously came easily to Clancy. You could feel it.

Honestly, I have nothing but praise for this book. It took me by surprise, and his main character was outstanding - a sensitive and intelligent young woman with extraordinary ethics and principles. A definite ten out of ten. Best book I've read for some time.

Team Skippy surprised me in so many wonderful ways. I was a  tad dubious about a male author having a female main character, but what transpired was certainly unexpected. In fact, I was repeatedly surprised. This book has been written with extraordinary passion and grace.

Many authors avoid having children as main players, but Tucker has broken that rule. He not only chose eight kids to be a major feature in his story, but the eighth child was non-verbal and allegedly autistic. How he wrote of their individual personalities was just brilliant.

Tucker's knowledge of Thailand is to be highly respected. He doesn't miss a beat. You feel you are right there, and the 'Land of Smiles' constantly leaps off the page. His main character, Sam, is also extraordinarily believable. She is not only talented, but also very very human, and Clancy Tucker has handled grief in a way we can all relate to. An extraordinary novel that MUST be made into a movie.
