18 August 2021 - WOOD PILE BECOMES AMAZING STUDIO

WOOD PILE BECOMES

 AMAZING STUDIO

G'day folks,

This camouflaged pile of wood house was designed by Piet Hein Eeek. It was designed for Dutch performer, Hans Liberg, as a recording studio. A place free of distractions and the hustle and bustle of life. A place for him to clear his mind and create music.  I now appreciate nature more than ever after seeing this.

Clancy's comment: Very clever, neat and practical.

6 November 2020 - KEUKENHOF - THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GARDEN IN THE WORLD

KEUKENHOF
- THE MOST BEAUTIFUL
GARDEN IN THE WORLD -

G'day folks,

Sadly, the most stunning flower garden in the world has closed after 71 years, due to the Covid 19 virus. However, when you see these photographs, you will want to visit this place when it opens again.

Keukenhof is a park where more than 7 million flower bulbs are planted every year. Gardens and four pavilions show a fantastic collection of: tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids, roses, carnations, irises, lilies and many other flowers. You will be overwhelmed by a spectacle of colors and perfumes.

At Keukenhof, you'd think you were adrift on a sea of flowers. Divided across various gardens and pavilions, the tulips and other flowers number in the millions.

Keukenhof has a different theme each year, meaning that it is never the same. Unique in the world, this park attracts over a million visitors every year. Note that the tulips bloom only from mid-March to mid-May, meaning that the park is only open during this period.

Now, check out what you will see when it re-opens ...

Clancy's comment: Sensational place, eh? Make sure you visit it when it opens again.

21 November 2019 - VINCENT VAN GOGH - 2000 WORKS OF ART.

 VINCENT VAN GOGH
 - 2000 WORKS OF ART -

G'day folks,

I can't say this guy has ever been one of my favourite artists, but he sure has become posthumously famous. However, as an author, I understand how difficult it was for him. Today, it is also a battle for authors to gain some traction and sell heaps of books. Having said that, I often say that I will also become posthumously famous.

Vincent Van Gogh was an artist highly underrated in his time, barely known except perhaps, for the cutting off of his ear. Out of over 2,000 works of art made over 15 years, Van Gogh reportedly only sold one painting while he was alive, to an art collector for 500 francs. Now, many of his paintings are recognized as the most expensive works of art, sold for upwards of $50 million and found in collections all over the world.

His paintings greatly contributed to the foundation of modern art as it stands today. Most of his iconic yet unknown paintings were created by him in the final 10 years of his life, between 1880 and 1890. Here are some of the works of art from the creator of Starry Night, Vincent Van Gogh.

Clancy's comment: Sold one painting whilst he  was alive? Mm ... And years later, they sell for 50 million! Sad, eh?

8 January 2019 - THE BEAUTY OF THE NETHERLANDS

THE BEAUTY
OF
 THE NETHERLANDS

G'day folks,

Welcome to a beautiful country. The Netherlands, a country in northwestern Europe, is known for a flat landscape of canals, tulip fields, windmills and cycling routes. Amsterdam, the capital, is home to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the house where Jewish diarist Anne Frank hid during WWII. Canalside mansions and a trove of works from artists including Rembrandt and Vermeer remain from the city's 17th-century "Golden Age."

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven and even the small village of Giethoorn- who doesn’t know the Netherlands most popular destinations, it is, of course, one of the most beloved countries in Western Europe. However you should know that this country is so much more beautiful when you see more than just its big cities and tourist spots - because the true and authentic Netherlands can be enjoyed only by visiting villages and towns on the outskirts, which offer a wealth of unique beauty that will allow you to get to know the Netherlands Inside out.

Now, let's take a closer look.

Clancy's comment: Worth visiting, and a great place for photographers.
