2 December 2020 - ABANDONED PALACE IN POLAND

ABANDONED PALACE IN POLAND

G'day folks,

The Rzewuski Palace was built in the years 1921–1922, and it was designed by the famous Warsaw architect Juliusz Nagórski.

The Rzewuski family lived permanently in Warsaw and it was this palace that was to become their summer residence. In 1945, an agricultural school was established on the premises of the palace. After 1969, offices and apartments for school employees were located here.

Unfortunately, in 1985, a fire broke out in the palace, after which the monument fell into disrepair. Attempts were made to save it, but it was to no avail and the renovation of the palace was interrupted.

Clancy's coment: Wow. Imagine what it was like in its heyday.

5 May 2020 - AUSSIE SOLDERS CARING FOR KOALAS AFFECTED BY THE BUSHFIRES

AUSSIE SOLDERS CARING
 FOR  KOALAS AFFECTED
BY THE BUSHFIRES

G'day folks,

Countless Australians have been giving their all in the last several months to put a stop to the raging fires, whether it was going to the firefront to push away the incoming flames, or joining in the humanitarian aid and relief efforts for both people and animals in need.

Soldiers have been at the forefront.  However, despite receiving well-deserved rest time between shifts, many soldiers surprisingly chose to trade in their off-time to continue helping the country recover from the bushfires. The 16th Regiment Emergency Support Force has been recently going viral after a handful of photos was seen of them cuddling and feeding koalas.

Here are some great snaps of our soldiers at work.

23 April 2020 - THEN AND NOW SHOTS OF THE AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRES

THEN AND NOW SHOTS OF
THE AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRES

G'day folks,

The flames which have been consuming Australia for months, have razed homes and wiped out entire towns. Since the start of the 2019 fire season, a staggering 10 million hectares have been burned across the country. For comparison, the California fires of 2018 claimed about 800,000 hectares.
About half a billion animals have suffered from the blaze in the New South Wales state alone, with millions potentially dead, according to ecologists at the University of Sydney. These numbers include birds, reptiles, and mammals, except bats. Insects and frogs are also excluded from the list, meaning the true number is much higher.

However, like Josef Stalin once said, "The death of one ... is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic." So, to help you comprehend the devastating destruction of the bushfires, here is a list of before-and-after photos from the affected areas.

Clancy's commment:  What can I say? And, after this came the floods. Now, we have covid 19 to deal with, but we will battle on.

10 January 2020 - HELL ON THE HOTTEST CONTINENT ON EARTH - AUSTRALIA

HELL ON THE HOTTEST
CONTINENT
ON EARTH
- AUSTRALIA -

G'day folks,

Yes, I'm a fiction author, but what is depicted here on this post is very real.

In 2020, it feels like we’ve reached a new level of tension. Nearly everyone’s talking about the possibility of World War Three breaking out. Meanwhile, Australia’s still on fire, with devastating consequences.

To show you just how serious the situation is, I have collected some random images that clearly prove that things are absolutely terrifying in the Land Down Under.

Stay safe. It's far from over.

Clancy's comment: Yep, it doesn't get any more real than this. It just doesn't. We have lost heaps of people, including firefighters, and more than 2,000 homes. But it is only the 10th of January and we have February and March to come. Farmers have been battling drought for years, and also struggling to find water for their animals, and then this comes along. Not to mention the massive loss of unique wildlife we have in this country.

How can you help? A donation would be fabulous, and thank you in advance. Click on the Red Cross link below, and send this post to your friends.
