Besides being delicious, cakes can also be beautiful. 

 

With the right ingredients and skills, a baker can turn an ordinary cake into a real work of art. This is exactly what the UK-based baker Emma Jayne does with her incredibly-detailed and realistic cakes. Besides being a cake artist, Emma is also a sculptor, and she utilizes her artistic talent when she decorates her signature cakes.

Emma Jayne stumbled upon the world of cake-decorating in 2012 when she made a cake for her son and daughter’s birthday. "Not knowing anything about cake decorating products, I learned the hard way, with many mistakes; but having a background in art, for me, this was like creating artworks in a different medium, which is why I fell in love with it in the first place," Emma said.

G'day folks,

I've posted some pretty weird stuff over the years, but here are some weird, and stunning, cakes.

Some cakes are too cool to eat. And these heavenly delights definitely fall into that category. Bakers from all over the world have been sharing photos of their cakes that look like paradise islands and they're so gorgeous, I just had to make a post about them.

Whether you're craving colorful corals or sandy beaches, forget that holiday package you're saving up for. These cakes have everything you'd expect from a $10K trip for a fraction of the price, and you can eat them too!

G'day folks,

Cakes don’t have to be boring. 

In fact, it turns out that cakes don’t even have to look like cakes at all. Still, never before have we seen cake art that looks so much like other foods and objects, tricking your mind into believing they're avocados, potatoes, or a bottle of Coca Cola, for example.

 These incredible cakes created by Ben Cullen, also known as The Bakeking, are something else altogether, and it hardly surprises us that he won gold awards at the Cake International prestigious competition both in 2015 and 2016.
