TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOU – GENDER, AGE AND PERSONALITY.

My name is Ahliyah Harmony-Rayne. I was named after an African American singer and song writer Aaliyah Dana Haughton who died eight months after I was born and the name Aaliyah means Highest, most exalted one.

My second name, Harmony, was named after a vampiress character from a TV show called “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” that my mother and father were big fans of at the time.

I was born in the year of the Chinese dragon and I am a Capricorn female, age 12 years-old.
 

I am considered multi-talented by most. Apparently I am also inspiring and influential to others although I did not know this until recently.

My personality is easy going, funny, calm, responsible, nervous, respectful, cautious, always use my manners, feel empathy for others, I am friendly to all who are friendly to me.
 

WHICH COUNTRY DO YOU LIVE IN?
 

Australia.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR FAMILY?

Fun and yet annoying.

DO YOU LIVE IN A CITY, RURAL, BEACHSIDE, HIGH-RISE OR DESERT AREA?
 

I live in the suburbs.

 DO YOU ATTEND A PRIVATE OR GOVERNMENT SCHOOL?

Government School.

WHAT YEAR ARE YOU CURRENTLY ATTENDING?
 

Grade six

IS IT AN ALL GIRLS / BOYS SCHOOL, OR CO-ED?
 

Co-Ed School.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT SCHOOL?
 

I like my teacher Mr Harrison and I love the arts, creative writing, music, drama, science, maths, history, library and cultural studies. I dislike moody substitute teachers & bullies.

WHAT SUCKS MOST ABOUT THE TEACHERS?

When they’ve had a bad day and take it out on the students
or when the good teachers leave the school.

HAVE YOU BEEN BULLIED AT SCHOOL? BRIEFLY, WHAT HAPPENED?

Yes, A few girls I used to be friends with are jealous of my academic achievements at school, my relationship with my mother, possibly my dress sense and looks too - not sure on that last part.
 

Two sister’s always called me names and threatened to kill my family and I.
 

Another girl is always putting me down with comments about my hair, my clothes on free dress day, my taste in music and shows, it took me a long time to realize they’re jealous of something I have.

DO YOU HAVE A PART-TIME JOB AFTER SCHOOL?

No I’m not old enough. I plan on having part time job when I’m older.

WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND AND WHY?

Alanah and Hudson, they’re twin sister and brother. They’re my closest friends because they understand me, my sense of humour and they look out for me.

IS RELIGION IMPORTANT TO YOUR DAILY LIFE? WHY?

Yes I am catholic – I believe in god and the greater good, the power of prayers and paying it forward.
 
Doing random acts of kindness for others, even if they don’t do anything for you.

WHAT OTHER INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE – SPORT, HORSE-RIDING, READING, MUSIC? TELL US MORE.

Reading books, Writing stories, song parodies, comedy plays, exposition/persuasive writing, Drawing, Playing musical instruments, Comedy, Roller blading, Swimming, Singing, Dancing, Acting, Animals, Board, Card, PC, Video and Outdoor games.

I also make up my own games & rules that others often follow and play, Socialising with my friends and family, Watching television and Movies, traveling and road trips.

IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO BE WHATEVER YOU WANTED, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I’d like to be a shape shifter or Dragon if they existed.

ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT?

Yes, it’s our environment and our animals and we take it all for granted.

HAVE YOU TRAVELLED OUTSIDE YOUR OWN COUNTRY? WHERE?

New Zealand and the U.S.A

IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO SAY SOMETHING TO ALL WORLD LEADERS, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

We should be protecting our animals, their habitats and our environment, reduce waste.
 

Cut poverty and homelessness, stronger human rights laws to protect children, the disabled and victims and save our education. Stop cutting subjects - students deserve to have a better diverse knowledge and not a lack of knowledge about the world we live in.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?

So many things I think I’d dabble in more than one profession - Author, Song writer, Parody writer, Stand-up comedian, Movie/TV show Director, Architect, Interior or Dress designer, Actress, Singer/Musician, Veterinarian, School Teacher or Chef.

WHAT WORRIES YOU MOST?
 

Failing at subjects.

WHAT WORRIES YOU MOST ABOUT THE WORLD?

I worry about our future as we’re responsible for the mess and havoc that we create in the world we live in and sometimes I worry that there may be more bad people in this world than good.

DO YOU THINK BEING A PARENT IS A TOUGH JOB?

Yes I think it would be tough.

DO YOU EVER STAND UP FOR YOURSELF OR THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS?

Yes all the time. If I believe something is unfair or someone is being mistreated I say something.
 
I have four younger siblings who I stick up for often and one of my siblings is disabled. I stand up for her all the time as not many people understand her or know sign language so they can’t communicate with her. Sometimes I advocate or translate for her.

WHO DO YOU ADMIRE MOST? WHY?
 

My mother – I want to be forgiving, caring and as kind as her when I grow up.

DO YOU USE SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS (Twitter, Internet, MSN, Yahoo, Skype, emails & Facebook) TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS?

Yes I use Facebook, Email, My space, You Tube and MSN.

DO YOU THINK POLITICIANS AND WORLD LEADERS ARE DOING A GOOD JOB?

Honestly, no I don’t.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST?

Fantasy, Sci-Fi and True story - books and movies inspire me to write my own stories.

WHAT, OR WHO, HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? WHY?

My mother - because of her strength, imagination, creativity, humour and she teaches me so much about the world.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY.

There would be world Peace, violence wouldn’t exist and every good thing in my imagination such as pegasus, warlocks, dragon’s and fantasy would exist.

DO YOU READ BOOKS?

Yes I read a lot of books, it’s my escape.

WHAT WAS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

Recent - My favourite teacher Mr Harrison left the school.
Past - My biological father has nothing to do with me.

WHAT WAS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO YOU?

Being born in to this world.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE?

Teach the whole world to pay it forward and Heal the world - like Michael Jackson sang.

DO YOU THINK MUCH ABOUT WORLD POVERTY, REFUGEES, ASYLUM SEEKERS AND HOMELESS PEOPLE?

Yes I think they should be treated equally.

DO YOU DO ANY CHARITABLE WORK?

No but I would like to volunteer for an animal shelter someday.

WHAT, OR WHO, ANNOYS YOU MOST?

I can’t stand Littering, Mess, Abuse, Shouting and ignorance they annoy me. Sometimes one of my sister’s Tayissah often annoys me and drives me slightly crazy. And one girl at school who thinks she is perfect frustrates me too.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
 

I’ve written my own stories, songs, plays and working on filming them. I have been in an academic advanced class and won awards three years in a row and I am now a class captain.

I’ve won several academic awards and have won a few prizes at school.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE PLACE? WHERE?

The Beach.

DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS?

I regret meeting people that are ugly inside.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?

Losing family and friends.

WHAT DO YOU MOST LOOK FORWARD TO?

Completing high school.
