MOUNT EVEREST
G'day folks,
Welcome to some interesting facts about the tallest mountain known to man.
Mount Everest is
more than just the Earth's highest mountain, with a peak at 8,848 meters
(26 thousand feet) above sea level and the 5th tallest mountain
measured from the centre of the Earth. It is also a symbol of a tough,
life risking challenge, that only the strongest, most insistent and
bravest people dare to try.
Even today, with many visitors to the
mountain, it is still a huge risk to try and climb it, and many get
hurt or even die on the way to that incredibly far summit.
Here are some facts and stories about
this mountain, that may either make you want to climb it
or make you swear you'll never go near it ...
Clancy's comment: Not my cup of tea, but you have to marvel at those who aspire to great challenges.
I'm ...
Think about this!
