President John Fitzgerald

'Jack' Kennedy

May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963

*

Today is the day President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas - 22 November 1963. I always recall two things about President John F. Kennedy. I was playing tennis on a Saturday morning when I heard he'd been shot and killed. Then, whilst travelling through India in the early 70's, almost every home or business had two pictures hanging prominently on their walls: John F. Kennedy and Mahatma Ghandi.
John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy, often referred to by his initials JFK, was the 35th President of the United States, serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963.

Born: May 29, 1917, Brookline

Presidential term: January 20, 1961 – November 22, 1963

Assassinated: November 22, 1963, Dallas
